Philippe Modat
Philippe Modat was a magistrate when he realized that wines were a passion for him. Also passionate about Law, he chose not to choose. A clerk in Paris during the week, he regularly visits the estate. Created in 2007, the estate is relatively new and is fortunate enough to work almost exclusively on old vines, often a century-old. This advanced age of the vineyard contrasts with the modernity of its ecological and organic wine making cellar built in 2008. Paradoxically, it allows him to work in the least interventionist way possible and therefore the most natural way.
Now his two sons have joined him and their wine making has become a family affair! Wonderful friendly winemakers who always give us a warm welcome in Paris when we visit them every year to taste their wines.

They say about their winemaking, "At the estate we have always thought that the success of a wine is mainly made in the vineyard: without beautiful grapes, no great wines! It is around this philosophy that we work to produce an exceptional raw material that magnifies the expression of our terroir and makes our wines vibrate."
We think this is really true! We are never disappointed by the quality of Domaine Modat’s wines or how delicious and full of life they are!
